Recent Comment Periods
In November, 2023, the Department of Disabilities, Aging, and Independent Living (DAIL) posted their proposed rule for updates to facility licensing regulations for Assisted Living Residences and Residential Care Homes.
VHCA is concerned that DAIL declined to review economic impact on the following grounds: “The rules are in line with safe standards of practice, so there is no anticipated economic impact if homes are currently operating to provide a high quality of care.”
In January, 2024, VHCA submitted a detailed description of why we assessed a potential for economic impact that deserved a closer review. We updated that assessment based on the July, 2024, review of the proposed rule by the Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules (LCAR). The updated assessment is found here.
