Due to retirement, Mertens House in Woodstock Vermont is seeking a full time Director for our small non-profit long term nursing care home. Mertens is a very highly regarded “small house” all private room design. There is no Medicare or Medicaid, but private rates are kept reasonable, and operating and resident subsidies are provided as appropriate due to our very strong endowment position. Surveys are state level, without federal requirements. A small professional term-limited Board of Directors meets every other month, and focuses on broad policy and general oversight. For more information go to www.mertenshouse.com.
A successful candidate will be self-directed and task oriented with a capacity for leadership, including resident and staff support, in the progressive field of senior care. There should be evidence of a solid track record. A nursing home administrator’s license (or out-of-state reciprocity) is preferred but not required. For a successful non-licensed executive, options may exist for part-time or consultant licensed nursing home administrator support, or an administrator-in-training program.
Candidates should have appropriate education and special knowledge in management and operations in long term nursing care or a similar environment, and demonstrated competence in business management, personnel, marketing, capital projects, resident care, and working with a Board of Directors.
Salary and benefits are negotiable, but in the range necessary to attract a highly qualified individual. Send resume and salary requirements in confidence to: Mike Pulling, firstname.lastname@example.org, (781) 820-0747
